A 2004 academic study of marriages in the United States found that those who did expensive wedding were more likely to get divorced down the road. The average American couple will spend more than $25,000 on their wedding in full. With so many different unique aspects to plan for, this can put financial pressure on people who are just getting ready to merge their finances.
